This workshop meets Saturday, August 28, 2021, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm
(lunch break suggested 12noon-2pm)
Working with CZ stones and with .950 sterling silver clay students will explore various settings in the clay for ring making or earrings set making. Carrie will demonstrate three types of stone settings used to create beautiful combinations of color. Each setting is built to ensure the stones do not come out during firing. Carrie will demonstrate a bead set stone technique, a clay bezel set technique and a lump clay technique. Students may choose to use stones in any design they feel like creating.
Intermediate metal clay skills are suggested for the ring project. No experience necessary for the earring projects.
A kit fee of $100 will be collected by the instructor during the workshop and includes clay, stones and findings.
This workshop is part of the Metal Clay Artists Symposium and requires purchase of the General Registration.
