Spinner rings are so much fun! Students will forge the main band with traditional metal working techniques and skills. The spinner will be created with metal clay, which allows for the addition of textures and molded elements. Students will learn how to properly size and account for shrinkage, how to fire and how to combine both pieces into a fabulous spinner ring! Students will make two rings.
A kit fee of $55 will be collected by the instructor during the workshop and includes sterling silver sheet metal, PMC 950 One Fire, solder, flux, patina and polishing materials. Step-by-step tutorial, use of shared tools and equipment during class. Materials will make 2 spinner rings.
Students are asked to bring:
- Basic Metal Clay Tool Kit (Roller, non stick work surface, needle tool or awl, Playing cards or depth measuring slats, glazed ceramic tile, xacto knife, water mister, release agent (cool slip, olive oil), drying plate, tweezers, sanding papers)
