Backyard Birdhouse - (one day class, beginner-intermediate level)
Treat your fine-feathered friends to luxury living. Come learn to create a fanciful miniature home for an imaginary flying friend. Add some pizzazz and individualize your house design with decorative metal clay embellishments and dangles. Emphasis will be placed on effective box construction techniques for multiple metal clay birdhouse designs. Demonstration and discussion will cover joint and joining options, as well as how to successfully shape, refine, fire and finish hollow-form creations in silver clay.
Class time will be dedicated to constructing and completing the birdhouse designs, ready for firing by the end of class. Fired pieces may be picked up and hand finished for wearing between 8 and 9 pm the day of class or between 8 and 9 am the following morning.
$65 kit fee is payable to the instructor during the workshop.
This workshop is part of the Metal Clay Artists Symposium and requires purchase of the General Registration.
