HIDDEN TREASURE SHADOWBOX PENDANT (one day class, intermediate level)
Double your pleasure with a delightful swinging bail pendant, whose shadowbox contents are concealed beneath an embellished lid. Students will create a themed or personalized treasure box in silver clay, fill it with handmade or tiny mold embellishments, and cap it with a decorative cover. Once assembled, the contents remain hidden from view until the top is moved aside. Demonstration and instruction will include curved box construction, structural support mechanisms, gemstone bezels with graduated tubing, and external bail attachment options.
Class time will be dedicated to constructing and completing all aspects of the treasure box, ready for firing by the end of class. Fired pieces may be picked up, hand finished, and assembled for wearing either between 8 and 9 pm the day of class or between 8 and 9 am the following morning.
$70 kit fee payable to the instructor during the workshop.
This workshop is part of the Metal Clay Artists Symposium and requires purchase of the General Registration.
