EvaSherman Organic Casting_edited_edited

Registration opens January 1st

This workshop meets Friday, August 28, 2020, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm each day

(lunch break suggested 12noon-2pm each day)

Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, casting with organic materials gives new life to old, unused, or broken pieces of metal clay. Students will melt scrap metal clay in a crucible, and then pour the molten metal into an organic medium to create a new jewelry component. We will spend the morning casting, and the afternoon fabricating jewelry with our favorite component. Up to three pieces may be created as time allows. Jewelry fabrication includes soldering, stone setting, and finishing. Kit fee includes all required embellishments but does not include scrap metal clay, which students should bring. Soldering experience is recommended, but adventurous beginners are welcome.

Registration fee: $150

A kit fee of $25 will be collected by the instructor during the workshop.
